Olsen’s for Healthy Animals is a family-owned business whose mission is to provide customers with the knowledge service and products that promote optimum health of their animals in such a way the customer experience exceeds expectations. Starting with the original location in Chino Valley, Olsen’s has grown to five stores serving the communities of Chino Valley, Prescott, Dewey, Verde Valley, Flagstaff, and surrounding areas. Today, the company’s superior product offerings and service form the basis for its motto: “Good Enough, Just Isn’t”. Along with their own line of feeds, Olsen’s for Healthy Animals offers a complete line of Purina Mills, livestock feeds and other major brands. Olsen’s is proud to provide both commercial and residential products from our five retail locations. Stores offer many different specialized brands of dog food, cat food, and livestock feed. Other products include a full line of toys, accessories, and remedies for today’s pets, as well as a complete line of veterinary and livestock related supplies for large animals.
The General Manager is responsible for overseeing the teams across multiple stores in the Olsen’s for Healthy Animals network to ensure that they meet/exceed the company’s business, operational, financial and people related goals. The General Manager also drives company initiatives to maximize efficiencies and productivity with a focus on innovative solutions. The role ensures the alignment of strategic goals across the organization that increase productivity, improve service and/or reduce cost. Maintaining outstanding customer services and safeguarding company assets is imperative.
The General Manager leads a team of over 80 employees to shape the vision & future of Olsen’s. The new General Manager will have the passion, energy and excitement to build positive relationships with stakeholders and regional/national business leaders and drive the strategic planning, business development and fiscal operations while building the company culture.
The General Manager is expected to lead by example – being a collaborative, proactive, personable and thoughtful leader; conveying an enthusiastic demeanor; and nurturing a highly committed and hard-working team. The position requires varied hours and days, including nights (special events, trainings, and seminars), weekends and holidays, as needed. Travel to Olsen’s stores and out of state travel to trade shows, conferences and trainings is required.
The successful candidate will possess strong leadership skills and 5+ years of experience in general business management. An understanding of feeds, and an agricultural or nutritional background is preferred. A Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as agriculture or business is desirable.
Effective communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft applications and financial acumen is required.
Compensation & Benefits
Olsen’s offers a competitive start salary of $70,000 – $90,000 annual and a comprehensive benefits package including healthcare, retirement options and generous leave.
